Whats golf stand for?

The word 'golf' is not an acronym for anything. Rather, it derives linguistically from the Dutch word 'kolf' or 'kolve,' meaning quite simply 'club. ' In the Scottish dialect of the late 14th or early 15th century, the Dutch term became 'goff' or 'gouff,' and only later in the 16th century 'golf. '

Why is golf no longer popular?

The golden age of golf appears to have come and gone and the demographics population in general is getting older. The decline in golf is surely in part due to those who love the game getting too old to play it and dying off, leaving the numbers of golfers continuing to dwindle.

Is playing golf expensive?

The cost of golf varies depending on the course and how often you play. An 18-hole public course will run about $40-$50 per time, while a premium open terrain with more challenging green fees can be as high at 100 dollars for each session (or even greater).
